Therapy in a Safe Place

About

My name is Galith Belilty, a licensed educational psychologist working with children and young adults—from school age through their 20s. I have extensive experience in working with children on the autism spectrum (ASD), particularly those who have not yet been formally diagnosed and are seeking a safe, emotionally attuned space. I am a native French speaker, and many French-speaking clients turn to me when they encounter difficulties expressing themselves in Hebrew or seek culturally sensitive therapy.

My professional journey was born out of a deep experience of cultural transition, personal and family crisis, and a renewed search for meaning, stability, and human connection. Facing the challenges of immigration, identity, and parenting in times of change required deep self-reflection and led me to choose psychology as a mission that turned me into a dedicated and compassionate psychologist. From this life journey, I developed a unique sensitivity for working with children and adolescents experiencing difficulties in connection, regulation, and a sense of belonging—especially children on the autism spectrum.

I am trained in advanced diagnostic tools (ADOS2), and I am known for my ability to detect subtle cues that indicate emotional and communicative difficulties. Parents often approach me when they are unsure whether their child needs an assessment, due to the intuitive, sensitive, and nonjudgmental approach I bring.

I work with a dynamic, down-to-earth approach, integrating cognitive-behavioral tools when necessary. My therapeutic style is active, warm, and engaging—using play, imagination, and humor to connect with the child’s inner world. I also bring sensitivity to topics such as sensory and emotional regulation, and collaborate closely with parents in a respectful, equal, and empathetic manner.

Children and teens often report feeling seen, understood, and genuinely cared for in my presence. I believe that effective therapy grows out of authentic human connection—rooted in empathic listening, kind eyes, and deep belief in the individual’s potential.

Inspired by Anna Alvarez, Winnicott, Bion, and the relational approach, I strive to hold both the child’s pain and their hope, their complexity and their capacity for growth. When I meet a child or a teen, I first meet a person with a story. And from there, step by step—together, we build the path forward.

Therapy

I offer a warm, play-based therapeutic approach that helps children express themselves naturally and safely through games, imagination, and shared experiences. My work is grounded in deep empathy, emotional attunement, and respect for each child’s unique inner world—while gently guiding them to understand emotions, build connections, and grow at their own pace. I integrate structure when needed, but always within a relationship built on trust, sensitivity, and authenticity.

Group Therapy

In my social skills groups, I work with 5 to 8 children on the autism spectrum in a supportive and structured setting based on an international evidence based program. Through storytelling, role-play, games, and guided discussions, children learn how to join play, understand emotions, solve conflicts, and build meaningful connections with peers. The focus is on practicing real-life situations in a safe, predictable, and encouraging environment that helps each child grow socially and emotionally at their own pace.

Autism Diagnosis

I provide comprehensive autism assessments using both my clinical experience and standardized diagnostic tools such as the ADOS-2. My approach combines careful observation, sensitivity to subtle emotional and communication cues, and collaboration with parents and educators to understand the child’s daily functioning. This allows me to offer a thoughtful, accurate, and respectful diagnosis that becomes the basis for meaningful support and intervention.
